We only collect information that is reasonably necessary to provide and operate EarWorm.

Your password is stored as a password hash rather than as your original password.
When you use your account, we may process information required to authenticate and maintain your session, including authentication tokens and related security information.
When you play EarWorm while logged in, we may store:
Some playlist information is obtained from Deezer's API. The playlist information itself may be publicly available information, but information linking a playlist or game result to your EarWorm account may constitute personal information.
Your username and game scores may be displayed publicly on EarWorm leaderboards. Your email address, password and other private account information are not displayed publicly.
Our servers and hosting infrastructure may automatically record technical information such as IP addresses, browser information, request information and server logs.
This information may be used for security, troubleshooting, preventing abuse and maintaining the reliability of EarWorm.
EarWorm uses the Deezer API to retrieve information about music playlists that users provide to EarWorm.
When you enter or provide a Deezer playlist URL, EarWorm may retrieve publicly available information associated with that playlist, such as:
EarWorm uses this information to create and operate music quizzes.
EarWorm does not require you to provide your Deezer password, and EarWorm does not receive your Deezer account password through the playlist-import functionality.
EarWorm does not use the Deezer API to access private Deezer account information unless a feature requiring additional authorisation is introduced in the future.
Deezer is a separate service from EarWorm. Information obtained from Deezer may be subject to Deezer's own terms, policies and conditions.
EarWorm does not sell or use information obtained through the Deezer API for advertising or profiling.

We will not use your personal information for purposes incompatible with those described in this Privacy Policy without first providing appropriate information about the new purpose.
Under UK data protection law, we rely on different lawful bases depending on what information we process and why.
We process information necessary to provide your EarWorm account and requested services. This includes account information, authentication information and game results.
We may process certain technical and security information where necessary for our legitimate interests in operating, securing and maintaining EarWorm.
These interests include protecting EarWorm against abuse, maintaining service security and diagnosing technical problems.
We will only rely on legitimate interests where those interests are not overridden by your rights and freedoms.
Where we rely on consent to process your information, we will ask for consent where appropriate and explain what you are consenting to.
You can withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.
EarWorm's leaderboards are designed to allow players to compare their game results.
If you play a leaderboard-enabled game while logged in, your username and score may be publicly displayed.
Your email address, password and other private account information are not displayed on public leaderboards.
If you do not want your username and scores to appear on a leaderboard, you should not submit a score to that leaderboard.
EarWorm allows users of all ages to access certain gameplay features without creating an account.
Users under 13 may use EarWorm's anonymous gameplay features, provided that those features do not require the user to create an account or provide personal information.
EarWorm accounts are restricted to users aged 13 or over. Users must not create an EarWorm account if they are under 13 years old.
When creating an account, users are required to confirm that they are at least 13 years old. We use an age self-declaration rather than asking users to provide their full date of birth.
Account features, including saving game results to an account and participating in account-based leaderboards, are available only to users aged 13 or over.
We do not knowingly permit users under 13 to create EarWorm accounts. If we become aware that an account belongs to someone under 13, we will take appropriate steps to close the account and handle associated personal information in accordance with applicable data protection law.
We aim to minimise the personal information collected from users and do not require users to provide their age when using anonymous gameplay features. Where EarWorm processes personal information relating to children, we will take appropriate steps to protect that information in accordance with applicable data protection law and the ICO's Children's Code.
EarWorm does not use age information for advertising or profiling.
We do not sell your personal information.
We may share or allow access to information with service providers where this is necessary to operate EarWorm, including:
Where third parties process personal information on our behalf, we expect them to handle that information appropriately and in accordance with applicable data protection requirements.
We may also disclose information where required to do so by law or where necessary to protect the rights, safety or security of EarWorm, its users or others.
Some service providers used by EarWorm may process information outside the United Kingdom.
Where personal information is transferred internationally, we will take appropriate steps to ensure that the transfer is carried out in accordance with applicable UK data protection law.
Where required, appropriate safeguards or an applicable adequacy mechanism will be used.
We keep personal information only for as long as it is reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time.
If we make significant changes to how we use personal information, we will take reasonable steps to bring those changes to users' attention before the new processing begins where required.
